Goal Type:

Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

To date, I have completed 2 Half Marathons (PB: 1:39:22), a handful of 10k (PB: 42:33), and a few 5k, with an eye on completing a full marathon in the Spring of 2010.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would like to complete a few marathons and have one of them under 3:30:00.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Overall, I want to be able to run as long as I can breath.

Personal:

I have a twin sister who is likely the one who is motivating me to get a move on. She has qualified and completed 2 Boston Marathons and 5 or 6 total. I have conflicts with running at times because I still enjoy playing soccer at the most competitive level I can.

This was sort of a race. It was a local event (Halifax, Nova Scotia) for the Nike Human Race. No chip timing or anything. It was a 7pm start -- so it was in the dark-- and it was coldish and raining, which made for an interesting run. I ran it with my twin sister and a fairly pedestrian pace. Frustrating having to wait on stop lights about 3 or 4 times over the last 2.5 miles of the run.

All in all it was fine.

My first run with my puppy. 2 miles was a start. I will try her again on Sunday for perhaps 3.

I ran after I arrived in Fredericton, NB for a business meeting the next day. They have a great set of trails that weave through the city that follow what had been the railroad tracks. It was not a fast run, but on the heals of some soreness post half-marathon it was fine.

Even better, aside from a little stiffness the next morning it didn't make any of the hurts worse.
